Public Works Yard

Responsibilities

Streets & Roads

  • 6,500 residents
  • 55 miles of roads to maintain
  • 110 roads to sweep
  • Potholes
  • Street signs
  • Approximately 400-500 roads of catch basins and fallouts to maintain and clean biannually
  • Animal removal/clean up
  • Trimming and removal of roadway trees
  • Salt and snow plowing of all 55 miles of roads

Parks

  • Approximately 15 acres of property to maintain, including grass cutting, mulch, fertilizer, bushes and shrubs, irrigation and garbage removal
  • Maintenance of 6 athletic fields

Fleet / Equipment

  • Approximately 120 Borough vehicles including heavy equipment, pick-up trucks, police vehicles, emergency vehicles and lawn equipment.

Recycling Drop-Off Center

The Recycling Drop-Off Center is located next to the Borough Garage on Fairview Avenue.

Its hours of operation are:

  • Monday through Friday
    8 am to 2 pm
  • Saturday
    8 am to Noon
  • Closed on all Borough holidays
